Upcycled Vintage Cake Toppers

Not too long ago, our family got together to celebrate my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. One of the things I did to make it a little bit more special was to take vintage cake toppers and place them on decorated boxes that served as faux cakes, place them on cake stands under glass domes and run them down the center of the long dining table. I thought they turned out charming. I think the rest of my family thought I had lost my mind!

I purchased the round cardboard boxes from a local hobby store. Picked up the bits of pearls, glitter and flowers there as well. A whole lot of glue and clean up after and…ta-dah!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

The first one I did. The headpiece had broken off so I added the pearls and veil.

This is a cutie I picked up at a second-hand store. Again, the top had broken and I repaired it with a bit of paper flowers and glitter.

This one was the hardest. I had to fashion an arch with a branch and secure it. I added the flowers after.
